A major exporter of ferrochrome-Kazakhstan enters a state of emergency

Kazakhstan is the third-largest resource country for chromium ore reserves and a major producer and exporter of ferrochrome, especially a source of high-grade and high-quality ferrochrome. On January 5, local time, a large-scale illegal epidemic occurred in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Due to the explosion of liquefied natural gas prices in many places in Kazakhstan, the Almaty city government was attacked by more than a thousand people. Kazakhstan President Tokayev signed a presidential decree, and Kazakhstan entered a state of emergency. On January 6, he has asked the member states of the collective security organization to help Kazakhstan deal with the "threat of terrorism."


In 2020, the production and sales of chrome ore and ferrochrome in Kazakhstan will remain stable. The output of chrome ore was 4.65 million tons and the export was 710,000 tons. The output of ferrochrome was 1.495 million tons and the export was 1.28 million tons.
